I have the honour to request permission to engage William White to proceed to Hong Kong with the Engines now about to be shipped, and there to erect and take charge of the said Engines.

He is also to assist in the erection of other Machinery and perform such other duties as may be required by the Master or his representatives.
He has consented to accept the following terms, viz Salary, £225 for the 1st year from the date of his arrival in the Colony.
